A Pacific Islander, Dr. Valérie Morignat is a global Responsible AI governance leader and Generative AI technical SME at a leading global technology consulting firm. Prior to joining the firm, she founded and led Intelligent Story, an AI consultancy based in San Francisco, bringing over 20 years of experience in business, government, and academia to her clients. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including Generative AI, AI strategy, AI ethics, AI governance and policy, responsible innovation, interactive and immersive design, visual and cinematic arts, and cyberculture.

Valérie has a proven track record of success in both the public and private sectors. As a government-commissioned chief strategist in New Caledonia, she developed strategic plans fostering an inclusive digital economy and engineered a graduate school for interactive media arts. In the US, she played a key role in the digital transformation of the largest healthcare marketing and communications agency on the West Coast, orchestrating the design of multimillion-dollar human-centered digital products for leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

For four years, Valérie provided strategic leadership on the transformational impacts of ethical intelligent technology to Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, and think tanks. She has collaborated on the Business Roundtable Roadmap for Responsible AI and is a sought-after keynote speaker and business consultant, addressing industry innovation, culture shifts, human factors, governance, design challenges, and market changes in the field of AI. Additionally, she is a tenured Associate Professor of Cinema and Digital Arts on academic leave from the University of Montpellier, and pioneered executive education programs as a Professor of AI Strategy and Responsible Design at Aivancity School for Technology, Business & Society.

Valerie received a Ph.D. in Art and Arts Sciences from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, with higher honors and distinctions. In her doctoral dissertation titled "Poietics of Transversalities," Pr. Morignat explored how interdisciplinarity is a fundamental component of innovative creative processes. She is also certified in Machine Learning (MIT), AI and Business Strategy (MIT Sloan), and Virtual and Augmented Reality design (IDF).

Dr. Valerie Morignat holds a Ph.D. in Arts and Art Sciences (awarded Summa Cum Laude), a Masters of Research (awarded Summa Cum Laude) and a Masters of Fine Arts (awarded Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Paris I, Pantheon-Sorbonne. She was awarded two Merit Doctoral Fellowships by the Sorbonne University of Paris 1 and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for her research achievements.

TITLES

She holds the French civil and academic rank of "Maître de Conférences" (Tenured Associate Professor) since 2003 after being hired and confirmed in her tenure by the University of Montpellier III (FR) and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. She holds the title of "Agrégée des Universités" after winning France's most competitive national teaching contest "Agrégation Externe".

CERTIFICATIONS

She has two executive certifications from MIT Sloan School of Management and MIT CSAIL in "Artificial intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy", and from MIT in "Machine Learning: From Data to Decisions".
